A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is designed to understand both your current concerns and the broader context of your life and experiences.
This session allows us to review important aspects of your history, identify patterns that influence your mental health, and begin developing a personalized treatment plan.
During this session, we will:
Designed for adolescents 14 and older and adults who prefer a private, one-on-one setting to discuss their mental health concerns. This confidential session allows for a thorough and thoughtful evaluation of your history, current symptoms, and goals for treatment.
For adolescents 14 and older and adults who would like a trusted person involved in part of the evaluation. A partner, parent, or close family member can sometimes provide helpful perspective on life experiences, relationship dynamics, and day-to-day functioning.
Where medication and insight work together.
Unlike brief medication check-ins, these follow-up sessions provide the time to integrate medication management with psychotherapy.
Treatment can address both the biological aspects of mental health and the psychological patterns that influence emotional well-being.
Sessions are tailored to your evolving needs and may include discussion of symptoms, life circumstances, relationships, and longstanding patterns that affect how you think, feel, and respond to challenges.
Follow-up appointments allow time to thoughtfully address symptoms, identify underlying patterns, and develop practical strategies to support mental health.
If you are currently taking medication, we will review how it is working and make thoughtful adjustments when appropriate. If you are considering medication for the first time, we will discuss potential benefits, risks, and alternatives.
Medication may be recommended as part of your care, but treatment decisions are always made collaboratively, guided by your preferences and goals.
Psychotherapy is an important part of treatment. Drawing from several therapeutic approaches, we examine how early experiences, family dynamics, cultural influences, and personal beliefs may shape your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
Through this process, we identify patterns that contribute to distress while developing insight and practical strategies to support lasting change.
Treatment may include discussion of lifestyle factors that influence mental health, such as nutrition, physical activity, sleep, mindfulness, meditation, organization, and daily routines.
These areas can support emotional stability, resilience, and overall well-being alongside medication management and psychotherapy.
Develop a clearer sense of who you are while working through the thoughts, beliefs, and patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, low mood, or feeling stuck.
Together, we explore how past experiences and roles have shaped you, and work toward integrating different parts of yourself in a way that feels more stable, authentic, and aligned.
Support from family members and close relationships can play an important role in mental health and recovery.
Family sessions are available for established patients who would like to include trusted individuals — such as partners, parents, siblings, children, or close friends — in part of their care.
During these sessions, I help guide a structured conversation so that participants can share perspectives, improve understanding, and identify practical ways to support ongoing treatment.
Family sessions may help:
